Washington and D.H. Conley were set to meet for the third time this season. However, Mother Nature had other ideas.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A third-round softball game between the Coastal Conference rivals was postponed Tuesday evening because of inclement weather.
The Pam Pack (17-4), the No. 2 seed in the Coastal Conference, and the Vikings (20-5), the third seed in the conference, will meet at 7 p.m. today.
Conley coach Wayne Deans said the decision to move the game was a good one.
Deans said having to drive back to Washington for a second time in two days won’t hurt his club.
The winner will play the survivor between the Coastal Conference top seed South Central Falcons (21-2) and the Southern Wayne Saints (20-5).
The game was also postponed Tuesday.
