Mr. Julius Ford Sr. of 1006 N.C. Highway 32 South, Plymouth, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Undenominational Revival Center, Roper, with Bishop James Burnett Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ford was born in Plymouth on Jan. 3, 1948. He was the son of J.B. Carmack of Chesapeake, Va., and the late Drucilla Whitehead. He served in the Army and the Marine Corps. On Aug. 25, 1968, he married Delores Jean Moore Ford, who survives. He had worked with Heilig Myers Furniture Store, Weyerhaeuser Co. and Plymouth Rest Area. He was a minister at Undenominational Revival Center, Roper.
Survivors include six children, Patricia Ford Riddick, Julius R. Ford Jr., Debra Ford Purvis, Tracey Ford and Kenneth Ford, all of Plymouth, and Angela Rawls of Aiken, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and his siblings, Magnolia Belcher, Jerome Whitehead and Drucilla Whitehead, all of Plymouth, and Glen Carmack, Laura Carmack and Josette Powell, all of Chesapeake, Va.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cephus and Lula Greggs, Flossie Carmack Holley and Grady Carmack.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Undenominational Revival Center, Roper.
