Less than 48 hours after her high school softball career came to an end, Marissa Fucito’s collegiate career came to fruition.
On Friday afternoon, the Pam Pack senior signed a letter of intent to play for Pitt Community College.
Fucito was a four-year starter for Washington’s softball team, making 94 consecutive starts for the Pam Pack.
Fucito played most of her career at third base before making the shift to full-time catcher early this season.
Fucito led the Lady Pam Pack with a .329 batting average and was among the team leaders in home runs, RBIs, and runs scored.
Fucito isn’t sure when she’ll step into the starting lineup or where she’ll be playing for the Bulldogs, but she’s anxious to get to Greenville this fall and show what she can do. The Panthers are one of the premier community college softball programs on the east coast after posting a 26-23 mark this season
