Ms. Ruth Bonner, 89, of Dover, Del., and formerly of Ransomville, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Delaware Hospital in Dover, Del.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. in Holly Grove Church cemetery, Sidney community, Belhaven.
Ms. Bonner was born in Beaufort County on March 18, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Glaucus Mobile Hardy Bonner and William Thomas Bonner. She was a graduate of Beaufort County High School, Pantego. She also attended a special crafts school in Brooklyn, N.Y. She retired from the Splendor Form Bra Co., Brooklyn, N.Y. During her early years, she was a member of Holly Grove Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Sidney community, Belhaven. In Dover, Del., she was a member of Bethlehem Judah Ministries, where she served on the Mother board.
Survivors include one daughter, Yvonne Carter of Dover, Del.; one brother, Archie Bonner of Bath and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Christobel Greene, Magdalene Young and Johnnie Bonner Davis and five brothers, Alonzo Bonner, McCoy Bonner, Wilson Bonner, Ralph Bonner and Clifton Bonner.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
