Mr. Carl Lee Mann, 63, of 1118 The High Road, Engelhard, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Larry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Mr. Mann was born in Hyde County on Jan. 8, 1945. He was the son of the late Sanford Gillian and Lizzie G. Mann and the surrogate son of the late Wilson Mann. He was a graduate of the former Davis High School. He was married to Lettie Blount Mann, who survives. He was a member of Faithful Hannah Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Holloway of Greenville, Nelma Mann of Washington and Kenisha Mann of Belhaven; one son, Carl Scott of Newport News, Va.; eight sisters, Martha Selby, Margaret Gibbs and Cora Mann, all of Georgetown, Del., Lizzie Cannon of Bridgeville, Del., Helen Howard, Eva Shelton and Geraldine Gibbs, all of Engelhard and Devella Shelton of Hampton, Va.; five brothers, Willie Mann, Willie Gibbs and Leroy Mann, all of Engelhard, Louis Mann of Bridgeville, Del., and Larry Shelton of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home.
A walk-in viewing will take place today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
