Mrs. Vivian Fornes “Mammie” Williams died Monday, June 16, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in the Williams-Modlin family cemetery in Beaufort County.
Mrs. Williams was born in Craven County, the daughter of the late William Godfrey and Annie Virginia Evans Fornes. She lived most of her life in Pitt and Beaufort counties. She attended Ernul Elementary School. For the past 15 years, she was employed in food services with Hardees and the Waffle House.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Gene Williams of Black Jack, and Glenn Thomas Williams and Danny L. Williams, both of Bath; one daughter, Dianne Williams Modlin of Black Jack; five sisters, Geneva Buck and Patricia Buck, both of Greenville, Margie Brock of St. Petersburg, Fla., Carol Williams of Black Jack, and Leona Gray of Vanceboro; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Henry Maryland Williams Jr.; one grandson, Thomas Carl Williams; five brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville.
