Mr. Robert “Chester” Jackson, Jr., age 73, a resident of 5788 Dean Drive, Washington, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center in Durham.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd.
Mr. Jackson was born in Pitt County on October 7, 1934. He was the son of the late Robert Chester Jackson, Sr. and Genevieve Eason Jackson. Mr Jackson graduated from Washington High School in 1953. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Jackson was a camera operator for several television networks, including NBC. He won an Emmy Award for his work on “The Golden Girls.” After his retirement, he moved back to Washington. He attended the Friends of Washington High School meetings. He loved horses.
The family will receive friends at the graveside service after the service.
