Mr. Jimmy Edward Holley, 78, of 801 River Road, Washington, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Mount Olive AME Zion Church with the Rev. David Ollison officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Holley was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 24, 1929. He was the son of the late John Holley Sr. and Roberta Keyes Holley. He was married to Emma B. Holley, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Della Barber of Washington; two sons, Leonard Barber of Washington and Clarence Thompson of California; four brothers, Nathaniel Holley, Andrew Holley, John Holley Jr. and James Holley, all of Washington; one sister, Everlina Moseley of Washington; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 503 W. 13th St., Washington.
