Josh Barnes Batts, age 67 of Sanford, formerly of Washington, NC died on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at his home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Oldham officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens in Sanford.
Born on August 3, 1940 in Anson Co., NC to the late Kenneth Batts and Melvin Blake Batts. He enjoyed fishing and camping and enjoyed being around and talking to people.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandra Forrest Batts of the home. Three sons: Josh Lee Batts of Sanford, NC; Richard Eugene Batts and wife Phyllis of Sanford, NC; and Kenneth David Batts of Sanford, NC. One daughter, Deborah Davis of Sanford, NC. One sister, Lula Frances Dollins of Sanford, NC. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Miller-Boles Funeral Home in Sanford.
