Mrs. Cora Beatrice Harrison, 94, of Roper, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
Born in Nacogdoches, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Earl and Cora Christopher George and was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Hope C. Harrison and brother, Ernest E. George. Fondly known as “Mrs. Bea,” she was a homemaker and member of Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ. She loved her church and was very active there having served as a Sunday School Teacher.
Her family includes her son, Benny Earl Harrison and wife Jackie of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Nila H. Hood and husband Dave of Darlington, S.C., and Betty Jo Cozart and husband Chuck of Beaufort, S.C.; ten grandchildren; fifteen greatgrandchildren and very dear friend, Mrs. Mattie Downing.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ with Mark Wilmoth officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth and other times at the residence of her son, Benny Earl Harrison. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ, Building Fund, P.O. Box 99, Roper, NC 27970. Arrangements are by Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth.
