Mrs. Grace Elaine Mackey Brimmage, 65, a resident of Williamston House in Williamston, and formerly of Scranton, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mount Pilgrim Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Scranton, with pastor Dennis Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mackey family cemetery, Scranton.
Mrs. Brimmage was born in Hyde County on July 22, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Sinkey Mackey Holloway. She attended the Hyde County Schools. She was married to Marvin Lee Brimmage, who preceded her in death. She was affiliated with the Mount Pilgrim Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Scranton.
Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia T. Gibbs of Fayetteville, and Annette L. Clayton and Mary B. Chatman, both of Greenville; two sons, Gary L. Brimmage of Atlanta, Ga., and Danny T. Brimmage of Belhaven; one brother, Wayne Holloway of Scranton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Caleb Holloway Jr.
The family will receive friends today from 7-11 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Theresa Gibbs, 119 Swindell Forest Road, Swan Quarter. There will be no public viewing.
Arrangements will be announced by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
