Mr. Donald Harrison Jenkins Sr., 85, of Bethel, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, following an extended illness.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Steve Smith and the Rev. Ellis J. Bedsworth. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins graduated from Robersonville High School and attended N.C. State University. He was retired from the N.C. State Inspection Service as a supervisor.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ayers Jenkins of the home; a son, Donald H. Jenkins Jr. of Severna Park, Md.; a sister, Evelyn J. Sparks of Rock Hill, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents, Heber A. and Elizabeth Harrison Jenkins, and by a brother, Samuel D. Jenkins.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home Ayers Chapel in Bethel and other times at the home, 211 Nelson St., Bethel.
