Mr. Melbert Greg Dodge, 49, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Chowan Hospital in Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Jimmy Davenport and Cleve Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dodge was born in Tyrrell County, the son of Melbert Dodge and Exy Berry Wood. He was married to Cindy Modlin Dodge, who survives. He was a custom fertilizer mixer and warehouseman with Crop Production Service. He was a member of Nazareth Church of Christ.
Survivors include one stepson, Justin K. Brooks of Fairfield; one sister, Dana L. Wood of Sheridan, Wyo.; and grandfather, Ellis M. Berry Sr. of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet F. Paul.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell and other times at the home of his uncle, Chester Berry.
