Mrs. Callie Phrocine Windley Boyd, 93, of 376 Respess Road, Pinetown, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Everetts Church of Christ with Dennis R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Windley Cemetery, Respess Road, Pinetown.
Mrs. Boyd’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Bobby Price Jr., William L. “Lanie” Price, Timothy Boyd, Jay Boyd, Mark R. Boyd, Butch Oliver, Gregory Ormand, Steve Van Staalduinen and Derek Woolard. Her remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on July 17, 1915. She was the daughter of the late William Samuel Windley and Ada Elizabeth Braddy Windley. She was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College. She taught fourth grade at Pinetown School for a short time. On May 27, 1938, she married Ferrell Vance Boyd, who preceded her in death March 3, 1989. She was a member of the Pinetown Senior Citizens. She was a member of Everetts Church of Christ and the ladies aid of the church.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie B. Price and Christine B. Oliver, both of Pinetown, and Barbara B. Young of Franklinton; one son, Robert F. Boyd of Greenville; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home.
