Mrs. Emily Ann Mann Weston, 95, a resident of Britthaven of Washington and formerly of 8217 N.C. Highway 92 East, Bath, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Britthaven.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Delight Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Earl Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Weston was born in Hyde County on Feb. 24, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Sam and Eva J. Mann. She was married to Matthew Weston Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Delight Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), where she served on the Mother board.
Survivors include two daughters, Spirit Weston of Jamaica, N.Y., and Betty Stackhouse of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sons, Shadrach Weston of Plainfield, N.J., David Weston of Bath, James Weston of Yonkers, N.Y., and Lee O. Weston of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 39 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John E. Mann of Chocowinity and two sisters, Lenora Gibbs of Bath and Hersia Gibbs of New York.
She was preceded in death by four children, Matthew Weston Jr., Henry Weston, Edward Weston and Mabel Weston.
The family will receive friends at the home.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
A walk-in visitation will be held today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
