Mrs. Grace Barnett Andrews, 72, of 5112 Bonnerton Road, Edward, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center, New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews was born in Beaufort County on June 30, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Ellen Smith Barnett. She was a graduate of the former S.W. Snowden High School. She pursued a career in nursing. Upon returning home, she was employed at PCS Phosphate until her retirement. She conducted a jail ministry at the Washington Police Department and worked at the Christian Society. She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as president of the usher board.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Andrews of New Bern; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Marie Sutton of Arapahoe, Mary J. Barnett of Edward and Florida White of Piscataway, N.J.
The family will receive friends at the home.
A walk-in visitation will be conducted today from 1-7 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
