Mr. John Walter Burbage Jr., 86, of 352 Arroyo Way, Sonoma, Calif., died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at home.
A graveside service was conducted Aug. 5, 2008, in Sonoma, Calif.
Mr. Burbage was born in the Sidney community on Oct. 13, 1921. He was the son of the late John Walter Burbage Sr. and Musa Mason Burbage. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was married to Betty Davis Burbage, who survives. He worked as a union carpenter for 55 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn B. Vance of Santa Rose, Calif.; one son, Fred Burbage of Santa Rose, Calif.; one brother, Charlie “Jack” Burbage of Belhaven; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert; one sister, Frances Burbage; three half brothers, Ottis, Lemmie and Rufus and three half sisters, Annie B. Paul, Russell B. Williams and Hazel B. Woolard.
