STOKES — Mr. Jerry Wayne Willard, 58, was born June 17, 1950, to the late Bill and Flora Mason Willard. He attended Bertie County Schools, and was a retail salesperson with Lowes of Greenville and an avid animal lover.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Aug. 11, 2008, in the chapel of Walker Funeral Home of Windsor, with the Rev. Mike Peele officiating. Burial will follow in the Hoggard family cemetery on Bull Hill Road, in Windsor, with the following as pallbearers: Brad Hoggard, Brian Harrell, Chris Harrell, Brandon Barnes, Stephen Barnes and Ryan Linville. Serving as alternate pallbearer is George Cox.
Survivors include: his life partner, Kenneth “Kenny” Linville, of the home; sisters, Mary Nichols and husband Jerry of Edenton, Etta Hoggard and husband Tommy, of Windsor, Kathy Hoggard of Windsor; one brother, Gilbert Willard of Kinston. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m., Aug. 10, 2008, at Walker Funeral Home Windsor and other times at the home of his sister, Kathy Hoggard, 909 Askewville Road, Windsor.
The family has requested that in honor of Jerry Wayne’s wishes casual attire be worn to the visitation and the funeral service.
