Mrs. Shirley Marie Reddick Crawford, 57, of 1874 Old Blounts Creek Road, Chocowinity, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Deeper Life Ministries, U.S. Highway 264 West, Washington, with Bishop James Tripp officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Beaufort County on May 9, 1951. She was the daughter of Nicy Marie Whichard Reddick and Cleauther “Joe Nathan” Reddick. She was a graduate of Chocowinity High School and did further studies at Beaufort County Community College in Washington. She was married to Lee Van Crawford. She had been employed as a medical records technician at the East Carolina University School of Medicine, Greenville. She was a member of Warren Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Chocowinity, where she served as assistant pastor. She was a member of Northeastern District Conference and served in many capacities.
Survivors include five daughters, Roxanna Ruth Crawford of Rolesville, Mary Elizabeth Crawford and Sarah Crawford, both of Greenville, Martha Michelle Cowles of Ashland, Va., and Rachel Nicole Crawford of Greenville; three sons, Lee Van Crawford Jr. of Greenville, Timothy T. Crawford of Goldsboro and Michael Lee Crawford of Chocowinity; five sisters, Veronica Henderson, Phyllis Smith and Shelia Driver, all of Chocowinity, Gwendolyn Farrow of Grimesland, and Peggy Turnage of Washington; two brothers, Jack Jones of Washington and Kenneth Reddick of Chocowinity; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Reddick and Jimmie D. Wilkinson.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
