Mrs. Ersell Britton Howell, 78, of 2551 Jones White Road, Roper, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Shiloh Disciples Church of Christ with Elder Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Howell was born in Washington County on March 3, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Martha Jackson and Charles Britton. She was a widow.
Survivors include five sons, George Howell Jr. of Boston, Mass., James Howell, Daron Howell and Ernest Howell, all of Roper, and David Howell of Raleigh; six daughters, Flossie Simpson, Mary Jones, Gracie Cabarrus and Lula Jordan, all of Roper, Katie Miller of Massachusetts and Rose Marie Cheeks of Ohio; one brother, Robert Rowson of Roper; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
