Mrs. Helen Dixon Boyette, 80, a resident of 408 Old Bath Highway, Washington, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pamlico Memorial Gardens with pastor H.W. Harrell officiating. Tom Bright Jr., Eric Bright, Bennie Bright Jr., Justin Boyette, Will Masten and Brian Clark will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Boyette was born April 9, 1928, in Beaufort County. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Thomas and Nettie Barnette Dixon. On Jan. 20, 1967, she married William “Bill” Boyette, who survives. She was the owner and operator of Helen’s Daycare. She was a member of Chocowinity Church of God for 35 years.
Survivors include her children, Charlie G. Bright, Bennie G. Bright and Robert Taylor Bright, all of Washington, James Leroy Bright of Greenville, Thomas D. Bright Sr. of Columbia, S.C., Kenny L. Boyette of Chocowinity, Ralph C. Boyette of Bayboro, Joyce A. Dallas of Gore, Va., Janice M. Harris of Spring Hope and Helen B. Masten of Washington; her sisters, Sarah Mayo of Washington, Audrey Kelly of Virginia Beach, Va., and Betsy Lou Martin of Bayboro; her brothers, William B. Dixon of Amarillo, Texas, Herbert T. Dixon of Kinston and Charles B. Dixon of Yorktown, Va.; and 30 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Gilbert Bright; a sister, Ella Mae Barr; and two brothers, Johnny Dixon and Robert Dixon.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hillside Funeral Service and other times at the home.
