Mrs. Frances Elks, 77, of 513 N. Hudnell St., Washington, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington with Travis Boyd officiating.
Mrs. Elks was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 7, 1931. She was the daughter of the late William Atwell Alligood and Vonie Woolard Ayers. She was married to Irving Rick Elks, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ann Elks of Trenton, Fla.; two sons, Howard Lee Norman of Washington and Michael Fay Norman; two sisters, Peggy Koonce of Washington and Mary Lee Jefferson of Arkansas and one grandchild.
