Mrs. Marjorie Furlough Davenport, 81, of Creswell died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell. Burial will follow in Davenport family cemetery.
Mrs. Davenport was born in Dare County, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Deannie Hassell Furlough. She was married to Chester A. Davenport, who preceded her in death. She worked as a nurses aide with Britthaven Nursing Center until her retirement. She was a member of Philippi Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Dean Davenport of Creswell; one son, Dwight A. Davenport of Creswell; two sisters, Caroline F. Hufton of Gastonia and Hilda F. Pollard of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Gerald D. Furlough of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Nannie Edwards Furlough and one brother, Grady Furlough.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell and other times at the home.
