Mr. James Gregory Bland, 47, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private.
Mr. Bland was a native of Pitt County and lived most of his life in the Grimesland community. He worked as an independent truck driver for many years.
Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Anderson Bland, who died in 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Nicole Hamilton of Grimesland, and a son, Jason Roberson of Greenville; a sister, Sharon B. Jones of Blounts Creek; two half-sisters, Pam Ayers of Williamston and Gina Mizelle of Chocowinity; and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
