Mr. Clinton Pope Sr. of 122 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davenport Temple Church of God in Christ with Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Pope was born Oct. 26, 1952, to the late Jesse Lee Pope and Lillie Mae Williams Frazier in Beaufort County. He attended the Washington City Schools. He was a prior employee of Beaufort County Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude H. Pope of the home; one daughter, Lynnette Dixon of Washington; five sons, Clinton Pope Jr. and Anthony Pope, both of Washington, and Aaron Dunlap, Quincy Dunlap and Ricky Dunlap, all of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Louise Bailey of Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Jessie P. Davenport of Chocowinity, Ms. Sharlene Neal and Ms. Dennene Williams, both of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ms. Shirley Bocket of Williamston; three brothers, Karl L. Pope of Washington, Tyrone Williams of Philadelphia, Pa., and Dalton Wiggins of Chocowinity, and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and other times at the home.
