William Ray Bowers, 89, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Pitt County memorial hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bethel City Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Bowers was born in Pitt County on Oct. 24, 1918. He was the son of the late William Robert Bowers and Dora Eubanks Bowers. He was a retired self-employed farmer. Mr. Bowers was preceded in death by three sisters.
He is survived by three nieces.
