Ms. Roxie Mae Outman Umphlett, age 90, a resident of 1207 Emerald Dr., Emerald Isle, N.C., died Friday, September 5, 2008, at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Ryder Hill Cemetery of the Pamlico Beach community and will be conducted by Rev. Medford Hopkins.
Ms. Roxie was born in Beaufort County on August 8, 1918, to the late Thomas and Flossie Daniels Outman. She was employed by J.P. Stephens Textiles in Roanoke Rapids until her retirement in 1975.
Survivors include her son, Hugh Umphlett and wife Beverly of Emerald Isle; two sisters, Olive Thorton and husband Jim of Chesapeake, Va., and Emma Evans and husband James of Roanoke Rapids; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
