Mrs. Emma Gladys Gray Harrison, 90, of Greenville died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Cypress Glen Retirement Home in Greenville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Pitt County on Aug. 21, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Henry Abram Gray and Lucy Carrington Gray. In 1946, she married George Hyman Harrison Jr., who preceded her in death in 1961. She was a retired teacher. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Velma Gray Harrison Johnson of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Carrie Gray Oakley of Greenville and Lucille Gray Uzzell of Charlotte; one brother, Jack Darlowe Gray of Chesapeake, Va.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Four Seasons Room at Cypress Glen in Greenville and Sunday immediately following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Christian Church in Williamston or Cypress Glen Retirement Home in Greenville.
