Mr. Charlie “Ed” Edward Jones, age 44, a resident of 291 Bennett Road, Chocowinity, N.C. died Wednesday September 17, 2008.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday September 20, 2008 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by the Rev. Stanley Jones. Burial will follow in Elks Family Cemetery.
Carlton Elks, Greg Rowe, Mike Meekins, Randy Keel, Mark Goodbread and Mike Bellah will serve as pallbearers.
Ed was born in Beaufort County on September 16, 1964, son of Gloria “Peggy” Elks Jones and the late William Robert Jones. He worked in the construction field as a welder and pipe fitter.
In addition to his mother, Peggy E. Jones of Chocowinity, he is survived by his very beloved daughter: Cassidy Sage Jones, of Greenville; his brother, Brad Jones and wife, Brenda of Greenville; his fianc/e, Jessica Weatherly of Greenville; his uncles, Jerry Elks and wife Sandra of Winterville, Bobby Elks and wife, Margaret of Supply, N.C. and James Elks of Surf City; his aunt, Juanita Cox of Richmond, Va. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, William Robert “Cookie” Jones and his brother, Robert Gregory Jones.
The family will receive friends Friday 7-9 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home of his brother, Brad and sister-in-law, Brenda Jones located at 3239 Portertown Road, Greenville and his fianc/e, Jessica Weatherly located at 1206-B Holden Drive, Greenville.
Memorials may be made to Charlie Edward Jones Memorial Fund, c/o Peggy Jones, 186 Elks Road, Chocowinity, NC 27817 in honor of his beloved daughter, Sage.
