Mr. Leon Ralph Allen Sr., 75, of Plymouth died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Plymouth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jay Clark officiating.
Mr. Allen was born in Washington County, the son of the late Thomas A. and Betty Ayers Allen. He was married to Sue Riddle Allen, who survives. He worked with Weyerhaeuser Corp. as a millwright until his retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicki A. Wheeler of Roanoke Rapids; one son, L. Ralph Allen Jr. of Kill Devil Hills; one brother, Warren Allen of Plymouth and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday in the fellowship hall of Plymouth United Methodist Church following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plymouth United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Maitland Memorial Chapel, Plymouth.
