Donald Dillon

MANILA, Ark. — Mr. Donald Hayes Dillon, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
A celebration of his life was held Sept. 29, 2008, in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette, Ark., with the Revs. Ferrell Duffell, Joey Smithson and Jarrod Russell officiating. Burial with full military honors followed in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Dillon was born in Belhaven on Dec. 26, 1935. He was the son of the late Louis and Ersel Dillon. He retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. He was married to Delora Dillon, who survives. He was a member of VFW Post No. 7057 in Gosnell, Ark. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Manila, Ark.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Dillon of Manila, Ark.; one daughter, Diane Hay of Blytheville, Ark.; three brothers, L.C. Dillon and Ronald Dillon, both of Belhaven, and Larry Dillon of Manteo; one sister, Barbara Elgin of Portsmouth, Va.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Dillon and Marshall Dillon and one great-granddaughter, Ella Claire Carpenter.
Arrangements were by Gregg Funeral Home of Monette, Ark.
