Thurman “Popcorn” Alligood

Mr. Thurman “Popcorn” Alligood, 69, of 609 W. Second St., Washington, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 3 p.m. in Alligood family cemetery, located on Mill Hole Road, with pastor Phillip Jethro officiating.
Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 4, 1938. He was the son of the late Levin Worthy Alligood and Sadie Woolard Alligood. He was employed as a logger. He attended Bath Church of God.
Survivors include two brothers, Levin Alligood and Steve Alligood, both of Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers: Orvin Alligood, Grice Alligood, Ben Alligood, Bonnie Alligood, Larice Alligood and Brown Alligood.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
