Mr. Perlie Page Jernigan, 73, of 120 Cooper Hill Road, Windsor, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Edgewood Cemetery with the Rev. J.T. Edwards officiating.
Mr. Jernigan was born in Bertie County on Oct. 25, 1935. He was the son of the late Thurman Matthew and Lotta Belch Jernigan. He was married to Lila Barnes Jernigan, who preceded him in death in 2001. He was a retired technician with Cable Vision.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Jernigan and Thurman Matthew Jernigan, both of Windsor; two daughters, Phyllis J. Carpenter of Nashville, N.C., and Clarissa J. Holliday of Williamston; three brothers, Clayborn Jernigan of Colerain, Billy Jernigan of Winton and Barney Jernigan of Greenville; one sister, Joyce Ann Mizelle; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Jernigan’s memory may be made to Bertie County Rescue.
