Mrs. Elsie Patrick Armstrong, 91, of Creswell, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maitland Funeral Home Chapel in Creswell with Mark Wilmoth and Leon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Born in Pasquotank County, Mrs. Armstrong was the daughter of the late Webb and Sue Chesson Patrick. She was married to Phillip A. Armstrong Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Albemarle Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey A. Midgette of Belhaven and Essie A. Rath of Roper; three sons, Phil A. Armstrong Jr. of Creswell and Royce Armstrong and Larry Armstrong, both of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Mildred Cooper of Virginia Beach, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda A. Sawyer; two sisters, Cora Cahoon and Lillie Mae Barnes; and two brothers, Sam Patrick and Lindsey Patrick.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home in Creswell.
