Mr. William Rodney Lilley, 73, of 2332 Hollow Pond Road, Williamston died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, in Washington.
A memorial service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. David Anderson and Jim Drake officiating.
Mr. Lilley was born in Martin County on July 30, 1935. He was the son of the late Viola Griffin and William Marion Lilley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. On Nov. 17, 1963, he married Melba Tyre Lilley, who survives. He worked as an electrician with Weyerhaeuser Corp. until his retirement. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon and worked with The Message of Easter.
Survivors include a daughter, Renee L. Smith and husband Ronnie of Williamston; a son, William Michael Lilley and wife Cynthia of Williamston; a brother, Barry E. Lilley and wife Mary C. of Williamston; and stepgrandson, Christopher Seighman.
The family will receive friends at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Message of Easter, Piney Grove Church, 2925 Piney Church Road, Williamston, NC.
