Edith “June” Alvey NeSmith, 78, died on Wed., Nov. 26, 2008 at her home in Blounts Creek.
Mrs. NeSmith, the daughter of the late Bernard and Clara Alvey, was born on May 2, 1930 in Maryland Park, MD. She was a homemaker, loving wife, “Mom” and “Granny” for all of her adult life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Curtis H. “Ace” NeSmith, Sr. in 2005, and four brothers.
Mrs. NeSmith is survived by her children: Curtis H. NeSmith, Jr. of Tarboro; Donna Crampton of Ruther Glen, VA; Kathy NeSmith of the home; and Robin Musser of North Beach, MD. She is also survived by a sister, Ethel Emery; sister-in-law and friend, Jeannette Sapp; daughter-in-law, Betty NeSmith; grandchildren, Michelle Herrin, Kelley Crampton, Darlene McGuire, Brian Crampton, and Clara Musser; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Herrin, Sammy Herrin, Annalynn McGuire, Leo Herrin, Robert McGuire, and Madison Carlyle.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Crampton, Carl Musser, Brian Crampton, Richard Herrin, Justin McGuire, and Steve Griffin.
The family will receive friends at Paul Funeral Home in Washington from 7-9 pm on Fri. Nov. 28 and from 11 am to 12 noon, with graveside services to be held at 1 pm on Sat. Nov. 29 at Warren Memorial Cemetery on Rt. 33. Pastor Ray Webb will officiate.
