Ms. Dorothy A. Woodley, 61, of 1732 Westpointe Drive, Greenville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Selvia Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Greenville.
Ms. Woodley was born in Chase City, Va., on Oct. 14, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Charlie B. Woodley and Inez Freeman Woodley. In 1948, she moved with her family to Washington. She attended Mother of Mercy School in Washington and Belhaven High School in Belhaven. She was formerly employed at Hamilton Beach and did domestic work. She joined Beebe Chapel CME Church. After moving to Greenville, she joined Selvia Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Woodley and Tosonjia Crawford “Tee Cee” Hooker, both of Washington, and Adrian Crawford Stocks of Greenville; one sister, Joyce Moore of Chocowinity; two brothers, Charles Woodley of Seat Pleasant, Md., and Mark Woodley of Washington and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Brant Woodley, Dwight Woodley and David Woodley and one sister, Willie Inez.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Selvia Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and other times at the home of her sister, Joyce Moore, 208 Choco Village Road, Chocowinity.
