Mrs. Rosa Lee Jenkins Mills, 96, formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in Brooklyn, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cherry Run A.M.E. Zion Church, 8062 U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, with the Rev. Lynn Bolden officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Mills was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 13, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Liz Coward Jenkins. She attended the Beaufort County Schools. She was married to Carl W. Mills, who preceded her in death. In North Carolina, she was a member of Cherry Run A.M.E. Zion Church, Washington. After relocating to New York, she was a member of Evening Star Baptist Church, Brooklyn, N.Y., where she served as a deaconess and on the pastor’s willing workers committee.
Survivors include one daughter-in-kind, Debbie Albritton of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
