Mrs. Emily Marie Wallace Boyd, age 84, a resident of 465 Ripp Highway, Plymouth, died December 4, 2008 as consequences of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Pinetown Church of Christ, officiated by Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery, located on Long Ridge Road, Pinetown.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Joshua Boyd, Jonathan Boyd, Brett Davenport, Hunter Wood, Charlie F. Wallace III and Bobby Woolard.
Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on January 27, 1924, daughter of the late Charlie Frank Wallace, Sr. and Edith Pauline Woolard Wallace. She was a 1941 graduate of Bath High School. On July 18, 1944, she married Jesse L. Boyd, also a native of Beaufort County, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1997. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and a very faithful member of Pinetown Church of Christ for 42 years. She was also a member of the DAV Auxiliary.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Boyd of Washington; her daughters, Sheila B. Talton and her husband, David Talton of Wendell, NC and Paula B. Wood and her husband, Nathan Wood of Washington; her daughter-in-law, Kathy W. Boyd of Washington; her brothers, Gary L. Brinn of Washington and Sherial L. Brinn of Summerville, SC; her sister, Wanda B. Allen of Cocoa Beach, FL and five grandchildren, Wesley Brett Davenport, Joshua Michael Boyd, Jonathan Aaron Boyd, Kristi Marie Wood and Hunter Nathaniel Wood.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Boyd and her brother, Charlie F. Wallace, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home, 465 Ripp Highway, Plymouth.
