PACTOLUS — Mr. James Robert “Bud” Gray, Sr., 82, passed Saturday, December 6, 2008.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Gray, a native of the Pactolus community, was the son of the late Thomas Edward and Mary Jane Gladson Gray. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II receiving a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. After returning to Pactolus, he farmed until his retirement. He was a member of the Pactolus Baptist Church.
Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Ingalls Gray in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Toler Gray; sons, James R. “Jimmy” Gray, Jr. and wife Sandra of Hamilton, Ala., Stanley E. Gray and wife Debra of Greenville and Victor J. Gray and wife Beth of Clarksville, Tenn.; daughters, Sheila Clark of Washington, and Katrina Lane of Greensboro; a sister, Doris Langley of Greenville; grandchildren, James R. “Jim” Gray, III, Winnie G. White, Jason L. Gray, Daniel T. Gray, and Cathy Lane; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
