Mr. John Calvin White Sr., 90, of 100 W. Liberty St., Williamston, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. John Speight officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. White was the owner of White’s Heating &Sheet Metal Work’s for many years. On Dec. 24, 1938, he married the former Eleanor Norris, who preceded him in death March 19, 1974. In January of 1976, he married the former Hazel Basnight Dixon, who preceded him in death in February of 1988. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lee White Clark of Williamston; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, J.C. White Jr.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital, Williamston Rescue Squad or a charity of one’s choice.
