Jeff Moss, superintendent of Beaufort County Schools is leaving his job in January to take over the Lee County Schools.
Moss has been with Beaufort County Schools since 2004. Before that he worked in Stanly County.
Moss had earlier said he was one of five finalists for the top spot in Lee County.
