Mrs. Margaret Rice Windley Wilhalf, 89, of the Vintage Inn in Williamston, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount.
Mrs. Wilhalf was born in Portsmouth, Va., on Feb. 8, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Lindley Bowen Windley and Etta Rice Windley. In 1937, she married Charles Edward Wilhalf II who preceded her in death March 17, 1978. She worked as a sales person with Sears until her retirement. She was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church of Wilmington.
Survivors include one son, Charles Edward Wilhalf III of Gastonia; two sisters, Jane W. Spruill of Roanoke, Va., and Annette Alston of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and one brother, L.B. Windley Jr. of Columbia.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home.
