Mrs. Peggy Mobley Bailey, 74, of 1133 Knox Lane, Bear Grass, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryant Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Martin County on July 3, 1934. She was the daughter of John Daniel Mobley and Viola Bowen Mobley. On Feb. 8, 1951, she married Maehue Bailey, who survives. She worked as an executive secretary for the Martin County extension office until her retirement. She was featured as a columnist in The Enterprise newspaper. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Gary M. Bailey of Goldsboro; one daughter, Beverly B. Rogerson of Bear Grass; one brother, John R. Mobley of Williamston; one sister, Mildred M. Moye of Virginia; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Rose of Sharon Free Will Baptist Church, 8000 Bear Grass Road, Robersonville.
