Residents at two Washington nursing homes were entertained with holiday songs Thursday.
Members of the Washington High School Show Chorus sang several Yuletide songs for residents at Britthaven of Washington and Ridgewood Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.
The Washington Evening Rotary Club provided the entertainment by making a donation to the WHS Show Chorus. Club members also distributed candy and small gifts to the residents.
Neal Evans was instrumental in organizing the performances, Calfee said.
The chorus sang “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “All I Want For Christmas (the Mariah Carey version),” “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Santa Baby” and “Christmas in About 3 Minutes,” a selection that included a medley of Christmas carols.
Stanton finished both performances by saying, “We wish you all a merry, merry Christmas and a happy new year.”
