Mr. David Earl Watson, 66, of 1650 Kent Roberson Road, Williamston, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Anderson and the Rev. H.B. Green officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mr. Watson was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Pender County. He was the son of the late Herman F. Watson and Edna Earl Melvin Watson.
Mr. Watson was retired from N.C. Power as a 1st Class electric serviceman. He was a veteran of the Army. Mr. Watson was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. He volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief.
Survivors include his wife, Mona Barber Watson of Williamston; four daughters, Lisa Williams of Hurdle Mills, Annette Bowen of Williamston, Kim Rouse of Washington and Tammy Rawls of Greenville; three brothers, Herman F. Watson Jr. of Yulee, Fla., Billy Ray Watson of Glennville, Ga., and James E. Watson of Lexington, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Watson was preceded in death by a sister, Bettie Ann Gooding.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Piney Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home, 1650 Kent Roberson Road, Williamston.
