Charles J. Lipscomb

Mr. Charles Junior Lipscomb, 88, a resident of Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel in Plymouth with the Rev. Bob Moulden officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville City Cemetery.
Mr. Lipscomb was born in Richwood, W.Va., on March 9, 1920. He was the son of the late Charles Harry and Rebecca Stewart Lipscomb. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Beatrice Jefferies Lipscomb, who preceded him in death. He worked with Weyerhaeuser as a papermaker until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Ann Howell of Williamston; one son, Robert A. Lipscomb of Plymouth; two sisters, Madeline Roberson and Esta McCoy of Charleston, W.Va.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Remona Lipscomb Fagan.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel in Plymouth.
