Our beloved Rick passed away on December 29, 2008. He was 57 years old. He leaves behind his wife Patricia, his son Richard, his father and mother, Dick and Phyllis Gertz, his sisters Linda Wadleigh and Bonnie Dirr, extended family and a host of long-time friends from Washington, North Carolina who loved him dearly.
We treasure all the memories he gave us, his mischievous smile, his beautiful poetry, his welded works of art. But most of all, we cherish him, the man he truly was, kind, loving and true. A person’s true spirit never dies. Rick’s energy remains forever with those of us who loved him.
