Mr. Charles K. “Kenny” Bland, 65, of Greenville, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009.
A funeral will be conducted today at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in Homestead Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bland was born in Beaufort County, the son of Gladys Bland of Washington and the late Robert Bland. He served in the N.C. National Guard for several years. He made his home in Greenville since 1979 and worked as a self employed carpenter operating Bland Construction. He was married to Vivian Carter Bland, who survives. He was a member and deacon of Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Bland Hinsley of Charlotte; one son, John Allen Bland of Greenville; four grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Bland of Davidson and Greg Bland of Washington; and two sisters, Star Krosting of Davidson and Cindy Dedmond of Suffolk, Va.
