Mr. Bryan Keith Woolard, 32, of 170 Hummingbird Lane, Washington, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in the Chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. John Cuthrell, Preston Cutler, Jr., Stan Garris, Del Latham, John “JP” Purvis, Edward Shavender, Dallas Spain, Sr., Fess Winstead, Bryan “Woogie” Seiler and Alex Seiler will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 highway 264 East, Washington and other times at his home, 170 Hummingbird Lane and at the home of his parents, 2906 Camp Leach Road, Washington.
Mr. Woolard was born May 11, 1976 in Beaufort County. Bryan graduated from Northside High School in 1994 and played catcher on the baseball team which won the State championship his senior year. He continued playing baseball at Lenoir Community College and received the Defensive Player Award while there. Bryan had a tremendous passion for the game of baseball. He volunteered as a coach for the five and six year old Lee Chevrolet baseball team. Mr. Woolard worked in the construction business for JP Construction and was also self-employed.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Pyle Woolard; one son Ryan Keith Woolard of the home; one step-son Hunter Del Spruill of Plymouth; parents Franklin Keith and Wendy Winstead Woolard of Washington; two sisters Kimberly “Dink” Woolard Spain of Washington and Stacy Woolard Cutler of Bath; three nieces Amanda Wallace, MacKenzie Seiler and Payton Cutler and nephew Bryson Cutler; and grandparents B. Frank and Shirley Woolard of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Hubert and Vivian Woolard Winstead.
